, we stayed only one night, but it was really magical., the hotel itself is amazing. our room had very high ceiling and was very spacious. it was an old style luxurious place. breakfast was really good and staff were very helpful., the location is in a narrow street but 5 minutes from shopping area. it is located around 25 minutes walk to the leaning tower., i would definitely recommend you this hotel.,

, a very nice, quality hotel with an excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. i was disappointed with the room in the respect that it was smaller than the one on the website that i'.d asked for and it was noisy from the adjacent lift. the web info gave the impression that the courtesy bus was free but it wasn'.t. it was 12 euros from the train station and 16 euros to the airport. it was a very comfortable service though. overall it was a very good, clean, very well presented and friendly hotel. i would not hesitate to return or recommend it.,

, superb hotel in quiet area by river. only 10 minutes stroll into tourist area. plenty of shops within minutes of hotel. welcoming staff very helpful esoecially the two men on reception and bar. hotel has own taxi. it also has some very nice rooms overlooking the car park entrance. i would not hesitate to stay again, probably ask for a double room rather than one with two single beds.,

, the staff were excellent, very friendly and eager to point out the sights etc. there is building work being done nearby, but is not a problem. there is a busy road outside, which might be a problem for families with young children. overall a great place to stay with great breakfast and own shuttle to the airport 10 minutes away, which i will recommend to friends.,

, we were four friends in our trip to florence, but we stayed one day in pisa. we booked a room in bologna hotel and we had a nice surprise. , hotel is near the duomo and its tower and other monuments like santa espina church and st. paolo in ripa., the room and bath room were cleaned but a bit small for four people, but other facilities were fantastic. , we recommend this hotel if you want to spend a fantastic day in pisa...,

, excellent hotel, exactly as described on the website. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. the room was clean, well decorated and quiet. although breakfast in italian hotels is usually a limp affair, the breakfast here was excellent. varied and fresh., the only (very slight) drawback is the location, which is not particularly near the major sights. however, if (like us) you are prepared to sacrifice location in order to get a good value room in a lovely hotel, then this is the place for you. all of which said, the hotel is a very short walk from the train station, and the 20-minute walk into the city is a very pleasant one., we would definitely stay here again.,

, sehr gutes hotel,sehr sauber,das personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit,an der repzeption sprechen alle angestellten deutsch und als wir fragten wann die züge nach florenz fahren, druckten sie uns den fahrplan übers internet aus ( der bahnhof ist in 10 min. zufuß zuerreichen,die fahrkarte hin und zurück kostet ? 10,30 und ist sehr zuempf.)das hotel liegt nahe zum arno in einer nebenstraße. auf dem arno fährt jeden sonntag ein boot für ?5 kann man sich pisa mal anders anschauen.unser doppelzimmer lag zum innenhof wurde jeden tag gereingt und es gab jeden tag frische handtücher. das frühstück war sehr lecker und für jeden geschmack war was dabei., wenn ich nochmal nach pisa fliege dann kommt für mich nur das hotel bologna in frage.,

, el hotel está muy bien, muy limpio, habitaciones grandes y bien decoradas, tiene hasta television de plasma. el servicio es muy bueno y en el desayuno te hacen cafe de verdad, no como en otros hoteles que he estado de italia. lo único por encontrarle un pero, es que el zumo no es natural... pisa no es muy grande, así que dando un paseo se llega a la plaza del duomo, pueden ser unos 20 minutos, y está a 5 minutos de las estacion de tren. me gustó mucho el hotel.,

, a lovely hotel to start our family holiday. close enough to the centre to walk but far enough away for peace and quiet. if flying in to pisa do not hire a car until you leave the hotel as you will not need one for the stay here. all you will be doing is paying for a car and parking when the airport is only a short ride away, the hotel offers a collect and drop-off service. the 4 bed family room we had was lovely including a seperate area, though no door, for the children to sleep. breakfast was enjoyable and plenty. the self service on the coffee was good. however there is limited food and drink available at other times so no louging about the hotel. would stay at this hotel again.,

, the hotel bologna is a comfortable and clean hotel between the train station and the river arno. it was close enought to get our cases to after getting off the train and it was within walking distance of the leaning tower and the older part of the town. the triple room had one main part and a side area with the second (single) bed in which allowed for some privacy. the hotel is on a quiet street which was mostly private residences. shops, bars and restaurants were within easy walking distance. the breakfast buffet was good but a little overcrowded. i would recommend this hotel to others,

, this was our first hotel in a series that we stayed in on a tour of italy and really it spoiled us for the rest. the breakfast was amazing, we ate so much that we didn'.t need lunch. the hotel is beautifully decorated with frescos and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. they are keen to give you information about pisa and made good suggestions of places to eat. the family room was excellent with the children'.s beds being in a separate area so that we each had some privacy. the leaning tower is about a 10 minute walk away.,

i enjoyed the size of the room and the ceiling heigth which felt very airy

we appreciated the warm welcome we recieved when we arrived and the fact we were greeted by name by a manager even at the ungodly hour the flight left us to pisa. the staff were approachable and very friendly. the bedroom was cool large and quiet. our bags were minded while we strolled around pisa before we left for gargonza. for the money we spent we recieved 5 star treatment, the best of any hotel we stayed in this or last year. the breakfast was fantastic and the waiter was the nicest fellow ever., many thanks for your kindness we hope to see you again soon., ,

the location was excellent, in the centre of pisa and with a room at the rear of the building so it was very quiet. the hotel was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. within walking distance of the leaning tower etc., yet also the rail station for those wanting to visit florence, siena and the seaside towns.
the idiot in a nearby first floor apartment over the hairdressers on the corner who periodically enjoyed throwing water over passing pedestrians - the hotel was notified so with any luck nobody else will get an unexpected soaking.
the stay couldn't have been better. the cleanliness, efficiency and location of the hotel was very good as was the hospitality of the locals. the wine bar caffe, capatosta, situated on via palestro opposite to the opera house, is second to none for its food not to mention its coffee for which currently holds the winning trophy for the best coffee in pisa. also we can recommend the pizza's at the small pizza eatery in the nearby side street right of the hotel., ,

, l'hôtel est situé dans l'oltrarno à une demi heure de marche du campo dei miracoli. les chambres sont extrêmement bruyantes : on entend les voisins d'à côté prendre leur douche, regarder la tv (...) et les voisins du dessus marcher ou encore les portes du couloir claquer. il est impossible de dormir et nous avons même du demander à changer de chambre (sans meilleur résultat)! il s'agit d'un ancien 3 étoiles devenu 4 étoiles recemment, mais qui ne semble pas être à la hauteur... je ne conseillerai donc pas cete structure !,

, wir ( 3 frauen) haben aufgrund der günstigen lage zur altstadt und zum bahnhof ein drei bett zimmer im hotel bologna gebucht. das zimmer erschien auf der webseite wesentlich geräumiger als er in wirklichkeit war.die zimmeransicht auf der webseite ist etwas geschönt für eine Übernachtung aber kein problem da wir am nächsten tag weiter reisen wollten., das personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit., verständigung war auch kein problem weil ein mitarbeiter deutsch sprach.,

, we only spent one night at the hotel but found it very good. the staff were very helpful- our flight into pisa was delayed so we arrived after midnight but they sent the shuttle straight out to the airport and when we arrived at the hotel they unloaded our bags quickly and check in was very quick as they understood we wanted to get to bed., the location of the hotel was great too approx 10 min walk to the tower.,

staff are of variable attentiveness. the room itself (and breakfast) is great - with the hotel on a very quiet street and there's ample car parking. the hotel is located only a couple of minutes walk over the river from where the action is - a very short walk to the main sights, restaurants and bars. should be a great location in peak season. hotels in pisa are difficult to find given the lack of street signs, so take a map. good value!

there's really nothing at all wrong with this hotel, except the inadequate lighting in the guest rooms. however, i chose it as a four star property, and was not convinced that it was really four stars. i'd give it a three. the location was marginal, and the staff unaccomodating (they wouldn't let me on the shared van to the airport--even though it only had one passenger on it--because i didn't have a reservation.) the bed was a twin, so the room overall wasn't worth the price charged--i could have had just as comfortable of a room in a lower priced property. , unlike most hotels i've booked through venere.com, this one did not exceed my expectations, and was a bit of a letdown.

besides the noise from the bar across the street, the room was wonderful, well appointed and comfortable. internet service was 2 euro / hour and baggage storage was 1 euro / bag, i thought these charges should have been eliminated as we were guests - but...overall, we would stay again. a great location, away from tourists but walking distance to the sights.

this was the second time i have stayed in this hotel in 2006. it is convenient for the station, the airport and the tower. fine breakfast. one night in pisa will probably be enough for most, but it is a good starting point for lucca and florence.

family group 2 adult, 1 19 yaer old one 12 year old. very impressed with spacious room, public areas very well presented, nice garden area, good location, quiet street for a city, easy walk from railway station. very good breakfast in nice room. the only criticism is that having booked a quadruple room, it would have been nice to get 4 real beds (with reading lights etc). instead one was a folding bed, which is never as satisfactory. the room was plenty big enough to take 4 beds properly. otherwise can't fault it

very nice hotel. great shuttle service, but it did cost 10/15 euros. nice common balcony terrace and good breakfast. convenient to most of tourist highlights. parking available, but getting there on our own would have been a challenge if driving. common computer internet service available at very reasonable cost. would recommend highly.

superb hotel in good location near to river. we were here in october 05 and returned for one night this year before flying home. excellent hotel shuttle (10 euros for two) to airport. great breakfast which started at 7am for early departures. this was at the top end of our price range but was worth it for the quality.

we have stayed here several times now, and the hotel and the staff have been excellent every time. the hotel is a 8 euro taxi ride away (5mins), and to return to the airport you can book the hotel shuttle car for 10 euro. rooms are clean and modern, breakfast is above the standards of many italian hotels we have stayed in. we arrived at 10am, and as a room was ready they let us in straight away. also in a great location, 2 mins walk from the river and the central areas.

rooms a good size and spotlessly clean. location was ideal for small, local (as opposed to tourist) restaurants and only ten minutes from railway station for trips to floreence etc. a pleasant terrace for evening drinks. we would definitely stay there again.

i was on holiday and had spent a lot of time travelling around and staying in 2-3 star hotels most of which were superior to the supposed 4 star bologna. the room was very small and with the window open, very noisy. with the window closed the room was in virtual darkness with only a single 40 watt globe to light it. the toilet didn't work. the cranky man sent up to investigate eventually discovered that the water had been turned off (obviously not by me) and was quite rude to me. , this is definitely not a 4 star establishment and i would not recommend it to anyone.

this is a very good location for seeing pisa. since they have a parking lot, we were able to leave our car there and walk to the attractions in the area. the staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants in the area and the breakfast buffet was very good with one of the better selections.

the bologna is very much a business type of hotel and is part of the minhotels chain., the reception area is smart and the staff quickly dealt with us and gave us our keycard. went up to our 3rd floor room and was pleasantly surprised as the lights came on automatically as we walked into our corridor. it was the same when we opened our door and the room lights and (remote controlled) air con came on automatically., the room was clean with the window looking out onto the street. we had a kingsize bed and sky tv + all other things that you would expect in a modern hotel., the room was noisy at night with the traffic outside but with the shutters/windows closed and the air con controlled from the bed it was easy to find a good balance., breakfast was typically continental but slightly un-inspiring. dining room staff were very efficient and helpful., overall we were happy with this hotel. the desk staff were slightly impersonal and rarely spoke when we returned (i didn't get a single 'buona noche' all weekend). the room was clean, comfortable and not too far from the river but it was quite a way from the leaning tower etc., this hotel is recommended.

i was in a single room. it was a bit small but clean an quiet, everything was also ok in the bathroom. the hotel is well located and the quality/price relation is good. the 24 hour shutle service transport to the airport could be very useful, when i had arrived to pisa by plane it was completely impossible to get a taxi at the airport. i phoned to the hotel and, they taken me at the airport in 10 minutes

we stayed at the hotel bologna for 4 nights for sightseeing reasons. the hotel bologna is situated near the river arno and the old village. the room is equipped functionally. the lightening was defect when arriving and the next day too although it has been repaired the day before. , the staff were correct but not friendly, they did their job. a bus stop to the airport is opposite the hotel (very helpful).

a recently refurbished hotel with a quality feel.i visited with my wife and two teenage children and found the room to be more than adequate.the breakfast was fantastic and the field of miracles(leaning tower) was only about a fifteen minute walk away.

the room had all of the modern conveniences. it was a single -- so, the bed was as small as an army cot, but very comfortable. the room, too, was small but very functional. nice window view. very clean. staff very pleasant and helpful. wonderful restaurant w/in a block. would definitely return.

room was small and not well laid out (we asked for a twin room in a quiet location and appeared to get a small room perhaps for children travelling with parents as there was a conecting door). it was very clean however and the public areas and service was fine and we didnt spend a lot of time in the room so ok overall. just a bit expensive for the size 0f the room!

our stay in pisa was wonderful at hotel bologna. the breakfast was terrific (meats, pastries, yogurt, cereal, juices, cappicuno). we were on the second floor and the room was just what we expected. the bathroom was larger than anticipated.

the hotel was great and we loved the location. the only problem we encountered was the air conditioning. not only did it not keep the room comfortable, but stopped funtioning the last night. during the summer this is a real problem. the parking area for cars was not good so i suggest if you are driving, find another hotel that has accomodations for cars. since parking is a problem every where, you might want to contact individual hotels. hotels in the newer sections have parking, but you do lose the atmosphere.

a very brief stay as used hotel for closeness to pisa airport and had a very early flight, hence wanting to stay in pisa., very close to the leaning tower, which was as impressive as it was when i first saw it 26 years ago, and hotel happy to collect from train station at start of stay and also drop off at airport in spite of very early hour (charge applicable), polite staff and air conditionning throughout hotel.

adequate is the best i can say. the room was very small. one chair only. coughing clearly heard from adjoining room at night., frankly, after 30+ hours travelling from australia and arriving round midnight i could have done without the desk-clerk lecturing me on why australia was never going to beat italy in the world cup soccer match played the previous evening. and that the australian team was only good at boxing and rugby! from what i saw of the penalty awarded to italy to win the game, the italian player concerned should try out for the national diving team for the next summer olympics!

single traveller. excellent hotel. recently renovated, very clean rooms with good bathroom facilities. my room was quiet and overlooked the courtyard. air conditioning was very, very welcome as was sky tv. good location, quiet side of the river. 20 minutes wander to the leaning tower and 10 minutes stroll to the station, meaning that florence was only one hour away. wonderful cake shop just round the corner, and an incredible al fresco restaurant just down the road (ask at reception). receptionists very helpful and breakfast plentiful. when i return to pisa i shall certainly go back to the bologna

an excellent hotel. the rooms were immaculate. lovely spacious bathroom. air conditioning very efficient. sitting out area on terrace at rear of hotel. very good breakfast. small family run inexpensive pizzeria on the street at side of hotel. the hotel is ideally situated for the railway station, bus station and all sightseeing in pisa. from the airport only, 5/6 minutes by taxi, approx. 8 euros, not worth taking bus/train. we would certainly use this hotel again if we returned to pisa. the hotel also offers a mini bus service, very useful for airport. 5 euros per person.

we happily recommend this hotel. we stay in a lot of hotels in italy, and this one was all you expect from a clean, smart, well run hotel. we were only there one night en route to see family, but we are due again in pisa in oct and will be using the bologna again. breakfast was the usual excellent "all you want" italian style meal, staff were all very friendly too. important comment i wish to make is that it is also in a very pleasant and convenient location, just 100 metres from the river, unlike a few of the hotels nearer the railway station where the area was not quite so appealing. we took a taxi from the airport, took about 5 mins, cost 9 euros, much easier than bus or train for the cost.

we stayed at this hotel for one night at each end of our holiday and the staff were friendly and welcoming, particularly so on our return visit. we booked one double room and one room for quadruple occupancy for each visit. the rooms were clean and spacious and offered very good value for money, although our family room was not ready when we arrived for our second visit. the staff were helpful in organising good quality, family friendly restaurants and the shuttle service to and from the airport was very useful.

impossible de se garer devant l'hotel car 2 voitures de l'hotel étaient devant,nous demandons a la réception si nous pouvons laisser le véhicule plus loin pour décharger les bagages avant de rentrer dans leur garage payant que nous avions réservé. pas de probléme nous est répondu., le temps de faire les papiers nous avions été chevillé., de plus parmis tous les hôtels que nous avions fait pas de chaîne française (tv5)., aucun plan disponible de la ville., enfin je pense que pour les français cette hôtel est à eviter.

wir haben uns mehrere monate vorher angemeldet und mit unserer erwartung recht behalten, dann auch ein gutes und vor allem ruhiges zimmer zu bekommen. zimmer nr.003 mit blick auf den sauberen garagenhof und die große schattige terrasse können wir bestens empfehlen. ringsherum gepflegte grüne gärten. das frühstück wird auch deutschen essgewohnheiten durchaus gerecht. wir würden jederzeit hier wieder absteigen.

optimales stadthotel, zu fuss vom bahnhof zu erreichen und in ebenfalls in gehdistanz zu den sehenswürdigkeiten. das einzelzimmer war sehr viel besser als abgebildet. die zimmer zur straße sind zwar laut, aber bei geschlossenem fenster kein problem. das hotel ist insgesamt sehr gepflegt, das personal freundlich und mehrsprachig, das frühstücksbuffet excellent. wir waren sehr zufrieden.

pisa, apart from the tower area, is a bit scruffy but the hotel is much smarter than the street it is found in. staff are very professional and all spoke english. parking in the congested private car park costs extra but at least it does have the facility. the hotel looks recently renovated and has a spacious feel about it. as a family of 4, we booked a family room and were given room 301, which happens to be 2 rooms, though with a doorway rather than a door between, and a balcony to the back of the hotel, so noise was minimal. so far as we could see, not all had this layout so it may be worth asking for it by name. the buffet breakfast allowed a fair amount of choice. we recommend the hotel at the price offered by venere, as other sites offered he same at higher rates. as for pisa, it's not just about a tower. its nearby companions are beautiful, well-balanced buildings.

a lovely hotel right on the edge of the old area of pisa and right between the train station and the tower., the room (for 4 of us) was huge with lovely high ceilings., as many people have commented on this site, the breakfast buffet is a real bonus with excellent coffee or a decent pot of tea and a nice selection of various foods., all of the staff but one were friendly, helpful and efficient. the one exception was an extremely rude receptionist doing the evening shift, recognisable by his pince-nez glasses. we arrived back after a day out in firenze having found out that there was to be a train strike the following day. we asked for advice on what else we could do. firstly he denied that there was to be a train strike as he knew nothing about it. we assured him there was indeed a strike and asked for advice. he told us he didn't want to recommend anywhere to go in case we forgot what he'd told us while we slept! his rudeness didn't spoil our stay however, as it made a fine talking point when we got home!

we were very impressed by the spaciousness of our quadruple rooml (1 king and 2 twin beds)-- bigger than other rooms we stayed at in italy and for 99 euros a great bargain. room was also well decorated, clean, and contained a safe. the walk from the train station was only about 10 minutes. you can walk to all the attractions, so we never used a taxi (even walked from train station to hotel in about 10 minutes - ok if you have medium suitcases with rollers)., while the street doesn't see much traffic, i'd still bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

the bologna is geared as a commercial hotel rather than for tourists. as such it is excellent. the service is very efficient and reasonably friendly, if a bit formal.it is handy for the station, the airport and the centre of pisa, and operates an excellant courtesy bus service.

we had a great stay at the hotel bologna! we based ourselves there for 4 days and explored other towns in the area--cinque terre, carrara, lucca, etc., all just a short train ride away. the hotel is just a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and maybe a 20-30 minute walk to the leaning tower. there is a small parking lot, where we reserved a spot in advance; then we walked alot and used the train system. the rooms were clean, quiet, and roomy, and every staff member we had occasion to speak with was courteous, friendly, and helpful. the shuttle to the airport worked out well as we left (some of us were flying, some were driving); it seemed like only minutes to the airport. we would definitely stay there again.

we were up-graded when we arrived to 2 single rooms for the same price. the hotel taxi service (10€)to meet us at pisa airport was excellent. the bologna is in a quiet location close by shopping street, restaurants & only 10 m ins walk from pisa central railway station for train to florence. the buffet breakfast was very good. overall we were very pleased with the bologna and would recommend it unconditionally as good value for money.

my family (2 adults 1 preteen,1 teen) spend a very enjoyable couple of days at this hotel, the kids on seeing the room said "cool, this is the best room we ever stayed in!" the room was huge! we arrived after 11 p.m. and we were very courtiously treated by the man on duty. he even opened the bar for us and chatted to us about italian food, wine oohh! i want to go back! the breakfast was great, lovely capaccino's, large buffet with all you could want. it was only a very short walk to the duomo and the tower about 10 minutes. great place and thanks for the recommendation. ben

a reasonable place for one or two nights. staff were not overly pleasant on arrival..a bit abrupt. close to railway and walking distance to the leaning tower...not much else of interest in pisa. free internet in the foyer but very slow....but can't complain for the price !!! would not be our first choice if we returned.

what a brilliant find this hotel was. we couldn't find fault with anything! the room was clean and spacious, the en-suite bathroom immaculate. the staff were professional, friendly, spoke excellent english and nothing was too much trouble for them. the breakfast was superb with a wide variety of choice. the hotel is situated close to the commercial centre and train station (frequent trains to florence), but was about a 20 minute walk from the tower. sadly, pisa itself wasn't quite what we expected. once you have seen the leaning tower, there is very little else to do. overall, the hotel was fantastic and we would highly recommend it to others.

das hotel liegt sehr günstig zum bahnhof und nur 50 m zum arno. die einkaufs- und fussgängerzone ist in 3 minuten per fuss zu erreichen. direkt vor dem hotel ist eine bushaltestelle, auch mit einer direktlinie zum flughafen. die zimmer sind sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. unsere zimmer lagen zum innenhof und sehr ruhig. das frühstück ist für italien sehr reichhaltig. das personal ist sehr höflich und freundlich. wir werden dieses hotel auf jeden fall wieder buchen.

this hotel is ideally placed for shopping and sightseeing in pisa. it was clean and the rooms were pleasant. the local guidemaps are in italian though, so not much help unless you speak the language (we did not know that the tower was marked as the piazza del duomo!)

we had a quad room which was very clean and spacious - except for a very small tv that we really did not mind. the room was next to the lift shaft which made it noisy specially in the nights. the major gudge that we had was the reception. we checked in late at night and the guy at the reception was very rude. we made statements that was completely inappropriate. also he did not inform us of mornining breakfast that was free. that resulted in our missing the first day breakfast. also, when we complained about it in the morning, the hotel management did not do anything to compensate other than apologize. for the price of the rooms, i would recommend people to look at other alternatives.

i was impressed with the bologna, very clean, staff were helpful, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. this hotel is well situated in pisa, it is a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport, near the shops and very close to the river arno. i would highly recommend this hotel, and i will certainly make a return visit.

das hotel ist günstig gelegen und sauber. auch das frühstück ist ok. riesen-minus: der blick aus dem fenster unseres zimmers ging in einen fast lichtlosen schacht, rund um die uhr erzeugte ein ventilator o.ä. lärm. desweiteren lag das zimmer direkt an einem lauten auzug. fazit: schönes hotel, netter service, lausiges zimmer. schade.

this is aan excellent hotel, the only thing that marred our stay here was the excessivly clean tolilet, the chamber maids liberal use of bleach on the bathroom floor took all the colour out of my socks, combine this with an air freshner that fires off every 5 mins and scented toilet paper, and you have a very scented toilet! apart from that, excellent

das hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. der service war ausgesprochen freundlich und die zimmer nett eingerichtet. das frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut. der einzige wirkliche nachteil: nachts war es - auch durch eine gegenüberliegende bar - zwar an einer kleinen straße gelegen, aber mit lautem durchgangsverkehr - extrem laut.

we arrived late and there was a problem with our booking because they there was a problem with my credit card so there was not any room booked for us. the problem was a misunderstanding with some missing numbers in the booking, but i was not informed before leaving denmark, and the booking had been accepted by the hospital. after a short time the problem was cleared and we got a nice room, but i will recommend that the hotel check there booking at least one week before arrival so that eventually mistakes can be cleared before leaving from home.

a very good hotel for the price. the rooms at the rear are nice and quiet. breakfast was also good. it is a 5 minute walk from the station (provided you have a decent street map as there are currently a lot of road works outside the railway station) and a 15 min walk to the leaning tower.

nice hotel, just off the main shopping street, 10 mins from the station, 7/8 mins from the , local cooperative (says "communist" over the door) supermarket., all the staff have enough english to get you in and out, but not enough to cope with , "if my friends come looking for me, could you tell them i'm in the restaurant round the corner." (saw somebody try this), staff are friendly and professional, my english visa card worked, so did my , virgin mobile, surprisingly and you need your passports when you check in., room was big enough, bed comfy enough and air-con worked well, though the electronic key , turns the entire room off when you're not in it and it needs time to cool off when you get in., minibar prices ridiculous, but there was room for a couple of extra cokes. , strangely, no curtain round the shower/bath, so mind you don't slip on the wet floor., double bed was two singles pushed together, but appropriate when the room is near , 30 degrees and your little boy falls out of the camp bed and has to join you., we enjoyed our stay, none of the niggles was enough to detract from our first holiday in italy.

i had a room with no window. it must have been the darkest room in the hotel. we only stayed one night and the second room we booked for our 3 children was on another floor miles away. i had a nose around when the cleaners were tidying vacated rooms and by the looks of it there are some very nice spacious rooms to be had. glad to say we only booked one night. who wants to pay for 2 nights in the window-less cell bearing in mind i booked this early march? anyway, the breakfast was excellent and to park your car in the street cost 4 euros. easy to walk to the 'tower'.

although the hotel is situated in a back street on the other side of the river from the main attractions, it is ideally situated for exploring the city with children.it was an easy 20 mins walk to the leaning tower.there is a good shopping street running from the right hand bridge , parallel to the hotel's street.the hotel is clean and spacious with good public areas.our "quad" room was more or less two adjoining rooms with plenty of storage space. the air conditioning,however was not fully effective in the height of summer., the staff were helpful and spoke good english., breakfast was good - there was the usual continental choice of: fruit,yoghurt,cereal,, cheese,meats,eggs,various cakes and croissants., the hotel shuttle service is not good value if there are more than 2 people.(16 euros for 4), we took a taxi from the airport which cost about 8 euros.the hotel is also handy for the train station (taxi 8 euros - ask the reception to book a "city taxi"), we would certainly recommend the hotel as good value for money in a convenient location.

the hotel bologna was a delight. it is in a good location in an easily walkable city. our room was a lovely surprise, quiet, roomy, with self-control air-conditioning, a mini bar and a nice view. the bathroom was small but attractive, with shower (no bath) and all the other necessities. good restaurants and shops (including a supermarket) in the surrouding area. excellent shuttle service to and from the airport (10 euros for 2 persons). my one caveat re pisa in general would be to pack some insect repellant! but that apart, the hotel bologna can be thoroughly recommended and we would certainly use it again.

we stayed here on august 2 2005. location was good and we walked to the tower in 15 minutes, through a lively area. reported problem with air-con as room was too hot for sleep after 2h on. man came at midnight, agreed about a/c, but asked us to wait 15min to see if it improved. it didn't and we moved rooms, taking about 30mins of stuffing about by staff. we got a smaller room and, finally, some sleep. car parking is also listed as a facility; this costs 15 euro a day! breakfast was a good range of buffet food.

a lovely hotel situated within walking distance of the tower and on the bus route from the station and airport. the breakfast was substantial (for italy) and the staff helpful. the room was quite spacious and the en-suite shower was heaven after a days' sight seeing. a well priced hotel in a convenient location.
