, this is a fabulous hotel and the staff are really as friendly other reviewers have said. the reception staff have great english and gave us lots of advice re maps etc. they also kindly booked us a restaurant when asked. no breakfast but right next door to the hotel is a great little cafe/deli excellent for morning coffee/croissants and late night pizza and wine! and right next door to this cafe is a hairdressers if like us you fancy your hair done for nights out. pool area is gorgeous and clean as is all the hotel. we have already recommended this hotel to anyone we know traveling to barcelona. wish i could go back soon?!,

a very well located hotel for all the main sites. efficient and clean with helpful staff. it is a city hotel so has limited public space for downtime although the exterior rooftop pool area would be an escape. (the pool not filled... feb. ) excellent free web access. breakfast has an excellent selection to start the day well. some low frequency noise from the metro and lift but not intrusive compared with the general noise levels outside.

the hotel is in a very convenient location and ideal for visitors to the city. the staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. given that the booking was made over the internet, the check-in process was smooth and faultless. the room was very comfortable and very nicely decorated to a high standard. we wnjoyed our overnight stay and plan to return when a visit to barcelona on its own is possible.

i had never visited barcelona before and was looking for a hotel in a good, convenient location for an overnight stop before embarking on a cruise ship. the hotel was a great surprise - very modern, clean, beautifully decorated and furnished with a very efficient, courteous and helpful staff on the reception desk. breakfast was great with a good choice and good, efficient and polite service. overall the experience of staying at the hotel jazz encouraged me to want to visit barcelona for a longer stay next time. the city has great things to offer and the hotel jazz is in the best place to take advantage of them!

modern, very convenient for all main attractions, shops, restaurants tours etc. barcelona is a fabulous city - not the first visit or the last and hotel jazz more than lived up to expectations.

the staff were particularly wlecoming and helpful., there are other hotels closer to the ramblas, but the jazz is only a short walk from the centre and feels very safe in a city known for petty crime., bareclona has excellent public transport.

hotel jazz was in a graet location. the room was very clean and modern and the hotel staff were very helpful. i would definately stay again and have already recommended it. barcelona is a wonderful city and i am looking forward to returning. my only comment would be to avoid the pricey bars and resturants on les ramblas, venture off the track a bit and there are some great alternative choices.

jazz exceeded our expectations for a short stay in barcelona. good hotel in a perfect location. we liked the modern style of the hotel. staff were friendly and helpful.

hotel was very good and would recommend it. we were in a suite (can't book on line), and well worth the 50 euro upgrade. location excellent and for this city it was relatively quite. if there was a complaint it was that we had to be out of the room (check out) for 12.00 exactly, and from 11.30 onwards we were contacted several times which was annoying having spent 4 nights there. this was a leisure weekend, but i travel all over the world and this is an excellent hotel and would recommend.

i stayed at hotel jazz for four nights and found it to be an excellent place, right in the middle of barcelona with walking distance to all interesing places and shopping. superb service, good breakfast, good wifi connection, and everything looking new and fresh. the rooftop pool was closed at this time of year, but the place was also excellent for sitting and reading in the sun. the metro was only 100m away, with connection to train renfe. i will absolutely recommend this to anyone, beeing a business traveller or for holidays. i will be back)

the hotel was of an excellent standard in a convenient position - near shops and metro & walking distance from the drop-off point for the airport bus (less than 5 minutes) - slight rumbling of metro did not disturb us at all. beds comfortable. no drawer space in the main area of the bedroom or bathroom - all personal bits on display or had to be put in the wardrobe or safe., nice to have free internet access., good to have a little space for milk etc in the minibar fridge. i took a travel kettle which was very useful. also took my own hairdryer - the hotel one was okay but did not have the cold air blast facility which i need., two problems which might not affect some people but did me., 1. the bathroom - fixed shower screen meant i had to climb into the bath to put the plug in before i could fill it with water for a bath. no problem if you wanted a shower. also occasional bad drain smell - a problem that seems common in barcelona, 2. i chose the jazz hotel because of the good reviews but the deciding factor was the supposedly open outdoor smimming pool. it was closed for some repairs. this was not communicated to me either by venere in advance (i asked if it would be open but did not receive a reply) or by the hotel on arrival. this meant i returned from sightseeing at 4:15 in order to swim before the pool closure at 5:00 but found it to be closed. the hotel staff did their best to find a soluion but it involved travelling 3 stops on the metro to a sister hotel or taking a taxi or moving to that hotel in a less convenient location - and we had already unpacked. we were compensated for the loss of facility but i was very disappointed. i love swimming outdoors in any weather and we were blessed with beautiful sunshine in january., if i were to go to barcelona again i would happily stay there (if i knew the pool was open!).

excellent hotel!, rooms are big and very confortable, there is lot of space for clothes and luggage, an in-room safe, flat screen tv, the bathroom is beatiful with a real hairdryer and they give you three towels/person and all needed for toilet (and change all everyday)., during the night you can hear the underground (our room was in the fifth floor) but it is not a real problem., the location is very good, is nearer to pl. universitat than pl. catalunya, but it is a very short walk, and you can get to lot of places on foot.

it would be an advantage and an attraction if a full or continental breakfast at a reasonable price was available but, on the other hand, it was enjoyable finding interesting cafes for breakfast

we were guests from aug 23 to 27. the hotel is new, very sleek and modern, large comfortable beautifully equipped rooms, and well located, only 2 minutes walk from place catalunya. it is not economy accommodation, but offers very good value for money, and we would not hesitate to stay there on our next visit.

the hotel is perfectly located between the old city and eixample, 300m from le ramblas and metro station of pl catalunya. many interesting sites are of walking distance. close to the hotel are many bars, restaurants for providing breakfast if needed. the hotel itself is modern with pleasant décor. the room was very quite and clean. we are very pleased with our choice.

fantastic hotel, the rooms are absolutely beautifully decorated and so clean. we had a room with view of the main street, there was a street may day march on the day we arrived and once the balcony door was shut we couldnt hear any of it. make a point of asking for a street side room though, because friends of ours had a room on the inside of the hotel and it was much smaller than ours and darker. the staff were nice but not overly friendly, but obliging. the breakfast was nice continental nothing over the top. but the hotel location was brilliant very close to everything. gorgeous hotel. lovely pool area could do with some umbrellas or shade though.

the first night was really quiet in the room but the next night there was an all female party making a terrible noise up the corridor until 3 in the morning.apart from that the hotel was excellent and really well placed .

very pleased with hotel jazz. an excellent location just a few minutes walk from the main square and a very good standard of comfort in the hotel: the room was quite spacious, the bathroom was nice, there was little traffic noise. i liked some of the extra touches, like the plasma tv (but would have preferred sky news to cnn!), the free internet area near the bar and the 'jazzy' decorative touches. most of all, for internet users, it does not misrepresent itself online-- it does exactly what it says on the tin!, any negative comments? just one-- don't pay extra for the breakfast. at €13 per head it's overpriced for what you get-- there are plenty of cafes within easy reach., i'll be back!

this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at especially in a city. it was extremely modern and trendy and really comfortable, we didnt want to get out of bed!!, the location is perfect, close to shopping areas and the ramblas only a 5 minute walk away. i would definately stay here again and i have recommended it to all my friends. well worth the money, thanks.

my wife and i have stayed at hotels all over the world and our stay at the hotel jazz was one of the best. the bed was the best of our many in spain, the bathroom was large, clean and everything worked. the staff was very helpful and the location is perfect. when we return to barcelona we will stay at the hotel jazz again.

we enjoyed our stay at the jazz hotel., we could not believe that this hotel is only 3 stars. i have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels that are no better. we found the hotel well placed to visit all the local attractions like , the rambles that were only 2 minutes away. i would stay in this hotel next time i visit barcellona.

excellent we had a fantastic stay the room,s are very modern and clean. did not have any breakfast at the hotel but the bar area was good. access to all local areas in easy reach we are returning and i would offer it to anybody .

this is a first class hotel, and although not cheap is extremely good value. while there was a mix up over the booking this was eventually resolved by the staff who were very professional. one downside of the hotel was that although the rooms are advertised as coming with hairdryers, they don't all have them and there are no spares, which caused some problems for our group.

stupendo hotel nelle vicinanze delle ramblas, situato nella via che collega piazza dell'università con p.zza catalunia, facilità di collegamento dall'aereoporto tramite bus al costo di 6,90 € per persona, le stanze sono stupende con un arredamento in stile moderno, l'aria condizionata è efficiente e silenziosissima, il bagno pulito ed accogliente (c'è persino il telefono), è dotata di tv sat lcd, è presente una piscina all'ultimo piano, io non ho usufruito nè di colazione nè dei pasti per cui sul cibo non posso giudicare. , sicuramente un'ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

i was swayed by positive reviews to book this, hotel. i was very glad i was so persuaded. this is a new and attractively designed hotel. the design and decor of the room and bath were appealing. the buffet breakfast offering was substantial (at 12euro). the location was great, two easy blocks from plaza catalunya and very close to a nearby universitat subway entrance. while the staff didn't offer to carry our luggage up (a relief), they referred us to an excellent nearby restaurant not listed in our guide books (trabador). the sole problem -- the two elevators were down one day and erratic the morning we left. assuming this is fixed, i would enjoy a return visit here. (have an address and perhaps a map though -- the taxi driver at the airport had not heard of this hotel yet).

not too cheap, but not too expensive in bacelone., ideally situated in barcelone near excellent subway station., the hotel is excellent, the staff is also really good and plesent., exactly what we were expecting, and w'll go back there next time we'll go to barcelone.

this was the second visit to this fine hotel, the location and competence of the staff, combined with a central location, ensures that i will always try to book this hotel as a first choice, the area is busy, as is most of barcelona, however the rooms offer a quiet oasis of comfort, the staff are available and efficient whilst not over zealous., a fine hotel.

this is the hotel to stay in, if you require a great location, a clean and comfortable place to lay your head, i suspect that room prices will increase once the hotel becomes established, this is a good four star hotel.

we would highly recommend hotel jazz. it's centrally placed; the staff are efficient and helpful; the design of the rooms is lovely; room service breakfast was always prompt and delicious., it's hard to find any fault. i suppose you could say, the pool is very small, but that didn't bother us. that's about the only criticism i can think of.
