i remember this hotel from 10 years ago. it has certainly gone down market since then. it is in need of refurbishement and this has been recognised by the owners. i would not be put off staying again but would not feel happy paying the full room rate until improvements have been made.

 good staff, helpful.

allthough the cost of the room was resonable the charges for internet access is extortionate.
as for the price of breakfast - well that beggars belief! £13.95
i had a first class evening meal in a local restaurant for less than that.

the room was spacious and had everything i needed including an iron. lovely restaurant.
it was cold. there was a lot of airplane noise from the airport throughout the night. the shower head was old and there was not a great flow of water.
the restaurant was modern and the staff were friendly. there was lovely food.

loved the pool....most hotel pools are rather small but this enabled you to stretch your arms and legs. changing accommodation excellent.
limited choice for evening meal and pricey.

they had a plug in radiator as the main radiator was not giving enough heat.

generally run down and unattractive
used breakfast trays in evidence in corridors at 9pm!
rooms clean but quite shabby.
restaurant food reasonable.

the room was spacious and clean with with neutral coulours which i like
when i arrived at the hotel i was made to feel welcome. although i arrived at 9pm i could still have dinner. at other hotels i have been snubbed or made to feel a real nuisance.
i was late coming down to breakfast and was told i could still have a cooked breafast even although it was 10:00 am. i declined the offer but it made a pleasant change (source : Activehotels.com - Avis Belfry House Hotel)

good leisure facilities, friendly staff
needs refurbishment, when i arrived at breakfast there were not many people there but many of the tables had not been cleared so there were limited available seats and the breakfast (bowls etc) was not fully stocked

the first room i was given had two leaks in the ceiling - apparently not unusual. the second room had a bathroom suite straight out the 70s and was in need of replacement.
the pool was good - although i felt the carpet in the changing room was probably a bit unhygienic. |
