like other eurostar hotels, das artes is strikingly contemporary. the rooms are nicely appointed, and the bathrooms sparkle, but the service is not quite up to eurostar standards. our stay was marred by a number of easily correctible flaws.
we were forced to stay in a smoking room our first night. the beautiful room smelled like a stable. we had to keep the window open, and the street noise kept us up all night. in fairness, when we complained the next morning, we were given a new, non-smoking room, though we had to do the moving.
other irritations were that the lobby bar was never open. the phone service did not permit us an outside line, while we were there. we had to use a phone at a neighboring gas station. and, the breakfast service suffered from a lack of staffing. hot items like eggs were not replenished frequently enough.
the location is excellent. it is right next to the roman aquaduct. it is, however, an uphill climb to the center of the city and most restaurants. so, the location may not be ideal for travelers with physical limitations.
we were a littel disappointed with des artes compared to other eurostar hotels, but we would be willing to give it a second chance.

hotel situato al centro città a pochissimi passi dalla fermata della metrò (sao bento)...camera enorme, pulitissima e comoda....colazione abbondante!!! consigliato!!!

i liked the stay very much - the room was very nice, and were also well kept during our 4 night stay. the breakfast was fine, although the room was a bit small related to the number of guests. the sourroundings were a bit dated, but that'.s the same for the entire city centre...

a pesar de no estar en el centro de la ciudad el metro y los puntos de omnibus estan proximos, es fácil llegar desde la estación de tren campanha.
la habitación y el baño son amplios y confortables. el atendimiento de los funcinários es excelente.
el desayuno es simple, com pocas opciones mas bien servido.

a very nice surprise - bessa hotel is just excellent ! room very pleasant, nicely decorated, ".american style". bed (including many pillows!. breakfast buffet super - it'.s got everything and was constantly filled up. room service was fast, very good and not overpriced (like many other hotels do it). nice sitting area for dining in the room.
