why ami i forced to rate things i have no knowledge of (e.g. type and number of rooms available.) there should be a place in this questionnaire for no opinion!!!
the main floor restaurant was closed.
the buffet breakfast was good, but awful coffee and inconsistent ingredients. not always ready at 7 am.
the lobby bar was good along with the entertainment.
one problem was that all electrical outlets in room are 220v (which is a problem for north american travellers.

the casa granda is in a fabulous location, though the staff had a massive attitude problem. service at the bar/restaurant was poor and the reception staff were reluctant and unwilling to help with any enquiries. the location was great and i'd recommend a stay here just for that, though it was let down by overall service.

un buon hotel di media categoria nella zona nuova di vista alegre. a cinque minuti di taxi dalla stazione degli autobus ed altrettanti dal centro storico (raggiungibile a piedi in una ventina di minuti). buona colazione a buffet. nei dintorni ci sono più ristoranti che nel centro storico.

hotel de las americas was an excellent choice to stay in santiago de cuba. everything functioned very well.

nice hotel by cuban standards. furniture and other equipment was quite old, but so it is almost always in cuba. the staff was friendly and helped quickly. possibility to take private salsa classes. hotel breakfast was ok, buffet with different options. location is not very central, but within walking distance from many sights in santiago de cuba.
restaurant pizza nova at the nearby melia hotel is very nice.
