this has to be the best kept secret in rome. the room and bath were equal or better to a good hotel room costing twice or three times as much. la plata is on the 4th floor, but there is a lift. it is located a a lovely plaza, just a few blocks from the main train station.

impresionante. es el tercer año que vamos a roma y, sin duda, es el mejor b&.b en el que nos hemos quedado. a diez minutos andando de termini, junto al ministerio del interior, por lo que es una zona muy vigilada y tranquila, pegado a via nazionale, que te comunica directamente con el centro histórico de roma en un cuarto de hora de paseo. está situado en un cuarto piso, la habitación era muy amplia, con una cama de 1.50 (increíble para un establecimiento de estas características), con vistas a la plaza, que por la noche es muy tranquila y con un baño limpísimo en el que cambiaban las toallas todos los días (ni en un hotel). en cuanto al desayuno, completísimo, no pudimos acabarlo ningún día. te lo sirven en la habitación, vaya lujo, a la hora que tu digas, y es una maravillosa forma de empezar el día. el dueño, argentino, (el idioma no es problema), es una persona increíble, alguien que ha trabajado duro toda su vida, enamorado de su establecimiento y que se vuelca con el cliente. ricardo, echamos de menos nuestras conversaciones cuando volvíamos al atardecer, pero cuando regresemos a roma te aseguro que nos volverás a tener en tu casa.

wir- zwei erwachsene, ein kind (11 jahre)-verbrachten zu dritt fünf wunderbare tage im oktober in rom. bei ricardo fühlten wir uns gleich wohl und gut aufgehoben. er ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. die lage der unterkunft könnte nicht besser sein. vom bahnhof termini in ca. 15 minuten leicht zu fuß zu erreichen. die zimmer sind im vierten stock. es gibt einen kleinen aufzug. alle sehenswürdigkeiten (bis vielleicht auf den vatikan) zu fuß erreichbar. bushaltestellen in der via nationale - nächste querstraße. zur metro auch ein kurzer weg. frühstück im zimmer war o.k. - cappuccino klasse. ricardos tipps zum essen wirklich gut. wir kommen auf jeden fall wieder.

very conveniently located, can walk to train station termini. the hop-on,hop-off bus stops nearby on via nazionale along with regular city buses. rooms are beautiful. we stayed here twice and it felt like home, very safe and quiet. the view into the piazza is beautiful. i love the dog, but the cigarette smoke does get into the rooms from the lobby. there'.s a nice restaurant across the plaza. we heard mixed reviews.

i stayed in the single room which was quite roomy - for a single room. the bathroom was very clean and seemed newly renovated. the only thing that i didn'.t like was that the doors are locked at 1am and there is no way to get in after that. i really felt nervous and pressured to be back at a certain time or be locked out especially i was staying there on a saturday night. if that isn'.t an issue for you, i would certainlhy give them a try.

i like la plata very much. the room was small, but big enough for a single travelerlike myself. the room was very clean, and the furnishing was pleasant. breakfast was brought on a tray to be eaten in your room, which was a bit troublesome as you had to eat on the bed. breakfast itself was good, especially cappucino was excellent. the landlord was a quiet person, but very kind. i wouldn'.t mind boing back there next time i visit rome.

close to downtown rome, but still a quiet neighborhood. good service, very good breakfast, clean rooms with friendly and helpful staff. i can definitely recommend this place!

not to repeat the same or similar words, i confirm that the previous dozen comments reflect very well the reality. taking into account that hotels in rome are far from cheap and also that in general the quality of the italian hotels leaves much to desire, la plata is more than a quite decent alternative: the room was very very clean and also very new. breakfast served in the room was also quite ok. a/c in the rooms has been installed only few days ago and if you want it working (absolutely necessary in summer) you have to pay an extra of ? 5 per day. it becomes really difficult to find inconvenients: maybe the owner's dog on the reception should not be there all the time and perhaps the owner ricardo should remember that according to the web info this is a non-smoking place... but such small things are well compensated for his sympathy and other qualities and his full disposal all the time. if you do not expect to find an hotel but just a small b&b (3 rooms only), we highly recommend la plata.

we had a wonderful stay at this place. we have never been to rome before, so we had a lot of questions. ricardo was very helpful and gave us many information about everything we wanted to know. laplata is close to termini. although you can get with the bus to nearly all siteseeings. we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

richardo made us feel very welcome, and the room was spacious. the breakfast was wonderful, and it was nice having it served in our room. the location was excellent, within walking distance of termini and a bus stop. even though the website said that there was a phone and air conditioning, neither were included. we stayed in several places in italy, and this was our favorite.

we were very pleased with our stay here. it was our first time in rome, and i booked this b&b because of the good reviews. we stayed here with our 4 young children and our friends; two other couples. the rooms and bathrooms were very clean, beautiful and spacious. we love the beds; firm and very comfortable. ricardo the owner was very kind and helpful. he loved the children. breakfast was plentiful and delicious. the location is good. it is quiet and not in a busy street. it is in a very safe place, police outside 24hr because of the bldg across the street. it is less than ten minutes walk to the termini. bus stops are around the corner. we would definitely stay here again, and i highly recommend it.
