nice appartment, friendly reception, and hostess was very helpful

i was collected from the station and delivered to the airport in the morning at an ungodly hour by the proprietor... it was like having family, (in a positive way)! and the room was well appointed and ample breakfast provisions in the room. i booked this on the strength of others recomendations, and it is certainly well deserved. thankyou latchmead.

very friendly and helpfull owner. excellent breakfast arrangements for an early start. prompt and friendly transfer to stansted at 4:30am. definitely recommended.

as a one-night stay for an early flight from stansted the latchmead could not be faulted. the chalet-style room had a large, comfortable double bed and an excellent en-suite shower room. plenty of towels were provided too, unlike so many of those travelodge type places.

breakfast cereal and tea and coffee facilities were present and plentiful allowing an early getaway for our flight. a shuttle service was also on offer no matter how early our check-in might have been but we didn't need it as we were returning a hire car. the airport was a mere 10 minutes drive away.

the proprietress was welcoming and unphased by the fact that we arrived quite late. she was at pains to ensure that everything we needed was at hand and was up with the larks to see us off in the morning.

overall a first class experience.

i arrived after 1.00 am the key was left for me and i was in a separate building from the main house so did not disturb anyone by arriving late. hot chockolate and snacks were in the room -very welcome at that time of night. in the morning i was brought hot chocolate croissants bythe owner. she was friendly and drove me back to stanstead as part of the service. i was able to regulate the heating myself. felt as though i was in my own home.

would have liked to have known if breakfast was full english or not at the time of booking. i did really like having the breakfast in the room and the hot pastries and bacon butties were a plus.

the only problem that i had there was no telephone number to contact the hotel and as it was situated off of the main road it was difficult to find.

very good accomodation, but i would prefer to have been in the main building. breakfast is self service in the room,(continental only) which may not appeal to everyone.

the friendliest place i've stayed, it's true latchmead only have nice people staying!! from the style and set up of the room to the generous provisions for breakfast in your own room i can't fault this one and it should be at the top when sorting accomodation by guest review in the area.

excellent place to stay for an early flight from stansted because (i) proximity to airport (ii) transfer to airport provided in early morning (5am)at no extra cost (iii) breakfast provided in room for an early start. closeby pub with good meals (though there is no village closeby).
