 accomodation clean although had to be moved when first arrived because of strong smell in room.
 smokey fire smell in corridors leading to rooms off putting first thing in morning.
would have liked more choice for evening menu perhaps a more affordable menu other than a la carte, for business people staying a few nights expensive menu on top of the price of rooms, we chose to eat in a local restaurant down the road for a fraction of the price of our first meal at the hotel and a much wider choice of food.

the food that we ate in the hotel was cooked to perfection, and the restaurant staff were excellent.
the first night of our stay there was no heating. we were chilled through to the bone, in spite of an extra small heater being provided.we have come home with very heavy colds. our friend mrs. baxter was not even offered an extra heater. we did complain, as did other guests. we were surprised to find there was no senior staff on duty for us to make a more formal complaint. it would influence our decision to stay with you again.
we liked the setting of the hotel and the standard of the accomodation, but felt that the heating problem was dealt with very ineffectually.

very appealing to the eye, clean crisp sheets and good sized rooms.
nothing, only to say that the heating outside our room was on making it very hot. hairdryer didnt work.
we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay all staff very accomadating, friendly and efficient. the breakfast was excellent, not many hotels get that right, but you did. will reccomend and hope to stay again.

the room was spacious with good decoration.
the room was dark and the quality of furniture poor - the wardrobe was falling apart! we were very aware of guests staying above and next to us.
we had an enjoyable stay. the staff were attentive and friendly apart from the dining room manager from whom we would have appreciated a smile. the meal was superb and we loved the location of the hotel. we would definitely recommend this hotel. thank you. room was spacious, comfortable, well-furnished and suitable for our needs. good to be able to accommodate our two small well-behaved dogs too! warm and cosy in the snowy weather! beautiful grounds!
plumbing a bit noisy!footsteps from room above very loud - poor sound insulation in ceiling. no hooks for coats in room! little wardrobe hanging space. needed a stool/chair in bathroom for towel/clothes when showering etc.

size of room which was very big. the rooms were nicely decorated and the large corner bath was a plus.

the ambiance of the hotel is what one would hope for when coming to england. the surroundings, view and feel of the place made me feel as though i was at home. i had all i needed in terms of accommodations. i must say the service in the restaurant was outstanding as was the food. both were as good as any that iÂ’ve had in the united states. my experience at both the hotel and surrounding pubs contradicted the word i heard about the quality of service and food.
the quality of the tv in terms of reception for both the visual and the audio channels could have been much better.
