 the decoration and the jacuzzi
 it was very cramped and bijou. the fact that we had to leave the main hotel to get to our room and climb the stairs were not ideal
see above. a basic gym would have been good.
i would only recommend this hotel to a mobile couple, not our parents.
a shame really, as it could be a winner if there was a lift.

friendly atmosphere, great room - contemporary style, not ikea!
no menu in the room for room service
we would definitely recommend this hotel. we had an excellent weekend in edinburgh and the hotel played a large part towards that.

intimate location and atmosphere.
we were put in a room which was sweltering even with the window open and it was directly above the kitchen and when we came back in the evening we could smell cigarette smoke in our room.
the hotel was lovely and the checkin staff were very informative and helpful. we were very disappointed with breakfast. i do not expect supermarket soft sliced bread for toast,for hot breakfast the hash brown had been substituted for a potato scone which was slightly warmed and unappetising with no explanation or apology, the tomato was 1/4 completely cold, no attempt at anything (bizarre)and to cap it all probably one of the cheapest sausages i have tasted in a while, which was over cooked.
overall not an inspiring breakfast. i would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay for a foodie

everything was perfect.
i booked this for my wifes 40th birthday. the sunday night special had a bottle of champagne on arrival so that sold it for me. the room was spectacular as was the jacuzzi and the bathroom. the breakfast was also great. although we both live in edinburgh it still felt like we were somewhere special. it will make me think about staying in smaller independent hotels or b&b's as opposed to the big chain hotels which are all the same. number ten was pretty unique.

the location
tiny room. poor check-in. expensive for what we got.
we were meant to check in at 2pm. we never got into our room until 3:30pm. we were offered a drink in the hotel lounge, and had 2 a glass of wine. we were subsequently charged £12 for the 2 glasses of wine. this after being delayed access to our room. for a luxury hotel, although clean, our double room was tiny and not in keeping with what we've come to expect from hotels with an alleged luxury status.

la décoration, le jacuzzi, le jardin, le lit, l'écran plat, l'impression d'être dans un appartement plutôt qu'a l'hôtel car la chambre se situait dans un autre batiment avec une entrée indépendante
un bruit de je ne sais quoi nous a gêné de 22h à minuit, puis de 2 heures du matin à 8 heures. nous avons fait venir plusieurs personne de l'hôtel pour constater. ils nous ont dit qu'il s'agissait du bruit de l'écoulement d'une douche... une longue douche... il y avait un petit local attenant à la chambre avec une cheminée et où otutes les conduites arrivaient. etait-ce un local de traitement de l'eau ? toujours est-il que ce bruit nous a empêché d'apprécier pleinement cette magnifique suite. dommage. (une ristourne de 20 £ nous a était accordé). espérons que cette gêne soit exeptionnel.

le cadre, le petit déjeuner, l'emplacement, la gentillesse du personnel, le calme, la décoration.
l'hôtel a été refait, le lavabo est vraiment trop petit. le système de douche et bain nécessite explication. il y a assez peu de rangements. la télé prend trop de place. difficulté pour ouvrir te fermer les fenetres anciennes et pas faciles. le lit pourrait être plus large.

the cleanliness of the hotel was very good coupled with the friendly helpful staff made our stay really enjoyable. would definately stay there again!!
