as an alternative to central lisbon, this is an excellent location in modern surroundings. rapid rail and bus services to lisbon (15 - 30 minutes) and 10 minutes by taxi to the airport.
in the midst of the expo 98 site there are plenty of things to see a few steps from the hotel. you can really see the river from the room windows on the river side! the ".new bridge". is a spectacular sight.
for anyone used to corporate travel the hotel has all the expected services and qualities. the buffet breakfast was extensive and good quality. with mainly corporate customers during the week, the character changed for the weekend becoming a high quality family hotel.
access to the hotel garage is somewhat difficult to negotiate, as is reaching the parking spaces within.
my wife and i stayed for four nights and the venere.com room price made this hotel excellent value for money.

muy buen hotel situado en un extremo de lisboa pero bien comunicado por metro, y los taxis no son excesivamente caros comparados con algunas ciudades españolas, la habitacion con vistas espectaculares (planta 14), y los desayunos bien, aunq la cadena tryp tiene hoteles con desayunos no mejores, pero sí mas variados, que aqui había de todo, pero poco variado, y la bollería no estaba del todo buena. pero muy bien, y los chicos y la chica de recepción muy simpaticos y agradables, merece la pena ir.

the tryp oriente was excellent. the front desk staff were some of the best i have ever encountered . well done ! the location was amazing, overlooking the waterfront, and right across from vasco da gama shopping centre. easy to get into the centre of lisbon. as there were five in our family we had two rooms , and we were given connecting rooms without even asking. very impressed with the staff and hotel. very near airport, about 7 euros in taxi.
