excellent value for money, modern rooms with comfortable bed, good food
downstairs decor is slightly dated but not something i disliked.
this hotel is excellent surroundings and just 20 mins (during rush hour) from bristol city centre. i do not normally sleep well in a strange bed but not here. i had a great nights sleep in a very clean & modern room.

the only redeeming feature was that it was close to my final destination
the worst thing was the overall smell of the hotel. in particular the guest wing and my room were very musty, almost as if there had been a flood and it was drying out
as above the hotel smelled of must and damp. the carpets were dirty.
in the morning the staff at breakfast seemed totally lethargic and gave poor service.
it clearly is pitching itself as a cheap conference hotel - although the
standard b & b rate is not cheap for the awful standard of the place

the room is always clean and comfortable.
nothing really
i had to send the beef stoganoff back. the meat was so tough i couldn't eat any of it. the choice of food has gone down over the last year. the cost of the breakfast is over the top and probably will not bother with the breakfast in future.
the service in the restaurant is very good.

the room was comfortable and well equipped with a pleasant garden view.
there was an odd smell in the room which may have been air freshener but which nevertheless we found unpleasant. the hair dryer only blew cold and was totally inefficient.
it would have been nice to have been given a better map of how to find the hotel and of the surrounding area. the hotel is in a beautiful setting in the ashton court estate and, had we known more about this, we would have planned our weekend to include more walks and exploration of this beautiful parkland. the indoor swimming pool was small and crowded with children - not a relaxing experience but we did enjoy a quick dip.
