 -la propreté, le confort, respect du petit panneau ".ne pas déranger". ou ".prière de faire la chambre"., c'est impeccable (nous avions une chambre double supérieure). accueil aimable.
 -le café au petit déjeuner !!! horrible, imbuvable (mauvais instantané, et pourtant nous en buvons souvent). l'accueil trop ".business". (impersonnel), ne parlent pas français.

chambre surchauffée sans possibilité de réglage. il n'est pas normal d'avoir 24°5 (au moins) dans la chambre sans possibilité de baisser la température. obligation de laisser ouverte la fenêtre la nuit (en plein hiver!). d'où mauvaise qualité de sommeil.

j'ai aimé le lit qui était très confortable.la situation géographique : près de la gare facilite les transferts.
la taille de la chambre : une extrême exiguité et la climatisation inutile à cette saison.

the hotel rooms were better than expected. they were clean and spacious including the bathroom, which in many hotels we have stayed in have been petite. the number of lifts and their speed were sufficient for the number of guests and the wait for a lift was rarely more than a few seconds. the breakfast facilities were good and on the one day when the breakfast area became overcrowded, the staff opened the restaurant also to make more tables available. the breakfast was more substatial than the typical cereal and pastry breakfast but also included fresh hot items. the staff were always helpful and all, including the bar staff, spoke english. most continental hotels we have stayed in do not have in room coffee/tea making facilities. the metropole had this available, with all items used replenished the next day. sadly no milk. although not one of the cheapest hotels in the area, we would recommend the hotel. the only downside and this is being picky in the extreme was that the view from the bedroom window overlooked the fire escape. but as we were out of the room for most of the day this is a view we rarely saw. also the hotel is no more than 5 minutes from the metro and a multitude of tour buses. however as most of tourist rome is in walking distance from the hotel, we only used the metro to go to the vatican.

this hotel was fantastic and we would absolutely return to this hotel the next time we'.re in rome. they also upgraded our room so we had a huge suite on 2 floors. we'.re not sure why what happened but thought it might be because our other rome hotel (we had booked through venere for another trip) overbooked and sent us to another hotel (hotel quirinale, which was pretty good but nothing like this one). everything inside the hotel is modern and clean. breakfast is convenient with a large assortment in a large dining room.

the metropole is very well located 3-4 blocks from the termini train station (easy walk) and is ideal if you are travelling by train. although not close to the sites/shopping getting around by metro, using a metro day pass (3euro)is very easy and quick. the metro is located near the train station. the various tour companies offering day trips/tours are located within walking distance, but they also do pick ups at the hotel. the buffet breakfast was plentiful and included scrambled eggs and the service excellent by all staff except the front desk staff. the front desk staff was the least polite, hospitalble, approachable or helpful we have ever encountered on business or leisure travel. the exception would be for the very helpful and kind young man who checked us out at 5am on sept 23, 2007.

the hotel is excellent considering the price i paid for. room was immaculately clean, beautiful and excessively equipped with amenities. the location in the termini area, although not as up-market as the hotel itself, was convenient which made my stay pleasant and very comfortable. it is highly recommended for its high qualitly standards and beautiful rooms.
