 very swish bathroom
 hall ways tatty and scruffy, staff not overly welcoming. car parking spaces not adequate for number of guests in hotel
convenient for town shopping and montpelier bars. music from club in basement woke us up at 1.30 (on the first floor). superior room was beautifully decorated but small details like no light bulb in lamp and absence of a fridge were disappointing. staff didn't seem very enthusiastic but pleasant enough. don't be too put off by the rear car park entrance...all the hallways are as bad as this!not sure if its worth the money...

the location was perfect being so close to the centre. the room was fine and had everything that i wanted, the personal touches were excellent. the hotel in general was beautiful and the staff were very proffesional
i didnt dislike anything at all. the room was very comfortable and extremely clean.
i booked the accommodations through luck. it was the price of the room that attracted me initially. then the location. i have worked throughout britton and in most parts of the world staying in various hotels. i can honestly say that this hotel for value was probably the best hotel that i have stayed in. with the hotel being fabulous and the staff being very proffesional, kind and considerate i can honestly say that my weekend in cheltenham, which was my first time, was truely amazing. i would like to thank all the staff for making my stay a wonderful one.

smelt of the food from the kitchen. room far too warm even with windows fully open. too much noise from ventilation system from kitchen. decor was very 80's. hotel in serious need of renovation and joining the real world instead of living on the back of the tacky tourist industry in weymouth. but then you alraedy know that.

lovely spacious room very well appointed
nothing really. i would not have wanted to get a very heavy (or multiple cases) up the stairs to the second floor
not really possible when we were there for less than 24 hrs but we were very impressed with the hotel generally and would particularly compliment the warmth and helpfulness of the reception staff (source : Activehotels.com - Avis The George Hotel)

we were able to park right outside the hotel and leave it there the next morning when we went shopping, the staff were friendly and the room was nice.
the bathroom let the accommodation down a bit and i do not feel that the room justified the cost.
overall a good nights stay with friendly staff, a modern reception and bar, although the room was a little smaller than i expected from the description and price and the bathroom was a bit of a let down. the hotel is however superbly located for a visit to the town centre being within minutes walk of the main shops. we were also aloud to leave our car for a few hours whilst we visited the shops. ample parking in front of the hotel, excellent service from staff, room quiet, clean and comfortable.

friendly and very helpfull check in staff set the tone for a very enjoyable stay. the hotel's location close to the heart of the town centre was an added bonus and (despite the scary looking instructions on how to get there)it was remarkably easy to find.
